This Should Scare The Hell Out Of Women!

Remember when former Senator Rick Santorum made this crazy ass statement during his failed 2012 Presidential run:

“I believe and I think the right approach is to accept this horribly created — in the sense of rape — but nevertheless a gift in a very broken way, the gift of human life, and accept what God has given to you,” Santorum said during his run for the presidency. “As you know, we have to, in lots of different aspects of our life. We have horrible things happen. I can’t think of anything more horrible. But, nevertheless, we have to make the best out of a bad situation.”

Turns out he’s not the only crazy son of a bitch who thinks this way. The latest to utter such shockingly Sharia-like pronouncement comes from Oklahoma state GOP Rep. George Faught. His words are even more shocking because they come 6 years AFTER Santorum and 1 year after #metoo movement. They are advocating that Rape is the “will of God”. And if a pregnancy results, the woman should carry the fetus to term. “Make the best of the situation, ladies.”

But, let me put this to these men who are dead set on women carrying rapists babies, what about married women, women with significant others, etc. If a married woman is raped and conceives, will the husbands and boyfriends take care of the rapist’s baby as their own? Will the rapist have visitation rights? Will the husband/boyfriend take financial responsibility of the child? Will they share custody with the rapist? Who will be called the father? The rapist or the husband/boyfriend? Since men are so glib about this arrangement, what sacrifices are they willing to make? Will these men be willing to be on equal or less legal footing with the rapist when it comes to parental rights? I mean, if they think this way, it should be no problem to make the best out of the situation, guys.

But you and I both know that very few men would do this! Most husbands and boyfriends would first blame the woman for getting rape then second leave her because who in their right minds would accept this life choice? And they shouldn’t have to. Neither should women!
